Silver Creek lies along the shore of Lake Erie in Chautauqua County, NY. A small creek flows through the area from which the village takes its name. Since 1968, Silver Creek has hosted the annual Festival of Grapes. This event takes place on the third weekend of September and includes a midway and other children's activities, wine tasting and grape stomping, live music, and concludes with a grand parade. It was featured on a Good Morning America segment in 2008 in which the hosts entered a grape-stomping competition. The village is also well-known for its public-school system, with Business First twice recognizing the Silver Creek Central School District as the best in all of Western New York.
